Shruti Haasan Dispels Marriage Rumors, Asserts: "I'm Not Married"

Actor-singer Shruti Haasan recently took to social media to quash speculations surrounding her marital status, affirming that she is not married. The clarification comes following circulating rumors sparked by a claim made by Orhan Awatramani, also known as Orry, suggesting that she is married.

Addressing the matter directly on her social media platform, Shruti Haasan, known for her candidness, emphasized her openness about various aspects of her life. She posted on her social media account (formerly Twitter), stating, “So, I’m not married. For someone who has been open about every single thing, why would I hide this? LOL. So people who don’t know me at all, please calm down.”

Adding to the clarification, Shruti Haasan’s boyfriend and artist, Santanu Hazarika, shared a similar sentiment on his Instagram story. He urged individuals to refrain from spreading baseless rumors, affirming, “Y’all need to calm down! We are not married! Individuals who don’t know us please stop spreading rumors,” accompanied by a folded-hands emoji.

The rumors regarding Shruti Haasan’s marital status emerged after an interaction during an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Reddit involving Orry. Responding to a user’s query about celebrity encounters, Orry mentioned an incident involving Shruti Haasan, describing an encounter at an event where he claimed she was rude to him. The mention of a “husband” in his statement added fuel to the ongoing speculations.

Shruti Haasan, who was last seen in the successful film “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,” alongside Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is gearing up for her upcoming projects “The Eye” and “Dacoit.” Her repertoire includes notable appearances in Amazon Prime Video’s “Best Seller” and various Tamil and Bollywood films.

Daughter of veteran actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika, Shruti Haasan made her Bollywood debut in the 2009 film “Luck,” sharing the screen with Imran Khan. Over the years, she has been part of diverse projects such as “Welcome Back,” “Ramaiya Vastavaiya,” “Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji,” and “D-Day,” showcasing her versatility in both Tamil and Bollywood cinema.
