Shraddha Kapoor Surpasses PM Modi in Instagram Followers Amidst Stree 2 Success

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has recently achieved a significant social media milestone, surpassing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Instagram followers. Kapoor now boasts 91.4 million followers, edging out PM Modi, who has 91.3 million followers on the platform. Despite this, PM Modi maintains his position as the most-followed global leader on X (formerly Twitter), with an impressive 101.2 million followers.

Kapoor’s rise in Instagram popularity comes in the wake of her latest film, Stree 2, which has captivated audiences since its release on August 15. The horror comedy sequel to 2018’s Stree is nearing the ₹300 crore mark in global box office collections. Kapoor stars alongside Rajkummar Rao, and the film, directed by Amar Kaushik, has been well-received despite facing competition from other releases such as Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa. Varun Dhawan also makes a special cameo in the movie.

In the broader Instagram landscape, Kapoor now ranks as the third most-followed Indian on the platform, behind cricket star Virat Kohli and actress Priyanka Chopra, who lead with 271 million and 91.8 million followers, respectively. Other prominent Bollywood celebrities include Alia Bhatt with 85.1 million followers and Deepika Padukone with 79.8 million followers.

On X, PM Modi remains a prominent figure, with his office’s account amassing over 56 million followers. Among Indian politicians on the platform, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have 26.7 million and 27.6 million followers, respectively.
