Renowned singer-composer Shekhar Ravijani, part of the popular Vishal-Shekhar duo, recently shared a heartfelt revelation about his battle with a severe vocal condition. In a candid Instagram post on Monday, Shekhar disclosed that he lost his voice two years ago due to Left Vocal Cord Paresis, a diagnosis that left him devastated.

A Shocking Diagnosis

Shekhar revealed that the condition struck him post-pandemic, significantly impacting his ability to sing. “I lost my voice two years ago. Left Vocal Cord Paresis – This was Dr. Nupur Nerurkar’s expert diagnosis. I was destroyed. Honestly, I was pessimistic… I thought I would never be able to sing again,” he wrote, sharing his emotional turmoil.

The singer also highlighted how his family’s concern added to the emotional burden. However, he remained determined, finding solace in prayer and refusing to stop working.

The Journey to Healing

A turning point came when Shekhar met Jeremy in San Diego, who connected him to Dr. Erin Walsh, a specialist who became his “angel.” Due to COVID-19 restrictions, their initial consultations happened via Zoom. Shekhar recalled, “I remember tears rolling down uncontrollably as I told her that I wanted to be able to sing again. I begged her to please do something.”

Dr. Walsh offered him reassurance and a structured recovery plan, emphasizing the importance of self-belief. Despite the challenges, including moments when he despised the sound of his voice, Shekhar persevered. Within weeks, his left vocal cord was miraculously restored.

A Message of Hope

Now fully recovered, Shekhar assured fans that his voice is better than ever. “I am absolutely fine now. And I can sing even better than I used to,” he shared, thanking Dr. Walsh for her unwavering support.

He also extended words of encouragement to others facing similar struggles. “Since then, I have met a lot of people who lost their voices post-COVID. There is a way. There is a solution. Just be positive and believe. Always keep hope in your hearts.”

Fans and Well-Wishers React

The post drew an outpouring of love and support from fans, friends, and well-wishers. Comments like “You’re a Rockstar,” and “Jai Hanuman… keep creating, keep becoming angels” filled the comments section. Others lauded his resilience, with one fan saying, “I’m glad you recovered from it!!! Hearing you live a few days back was a blessing.”

Shekhar’s journey is a testament to resilience, positivity, and the power of expert guidance, inspiring fans worldwide to never lose hope.
