Vikas Bahl’s supernatural thriller “Shaitaan” continues to impress at the box office, crossing the ₹106 crore mark in just 11 days since its release. The film, starring Ajay Devgn as Kabeer and R Madhavan as Vanraaj Kashyap, experienced a slight decline in ticket sales on its second Monday but still managed to rake in ₹3 crore, according to a report by Sacnilk.
“Shaitaan” follows the story of a family of four on a retreat who become victims of a man practicing black magic on one of them. Alongside Devgn and Madhavan, the film features Janki Bodiwala as Jahnvi and Jyothika as Jyoti. It has been jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared insights into the film’s performance, highlighting its dominance in the second weekend with excellent numbers on Saturday and Sunday. Adarsh noted that “Shaitaan” emerged as a strong contender against new releases and is expected to maintain its lead on weekdays as well.
Critics have also weighed in on the film, with Saibal Chatterjee describing it as a tale of a happy family battling a modern-day sorcerer. Chatterjee praised Ajay Devgn’s portrayal of the tough protagonist and noted the film’s appeal to Devgn’s fan base.
“Shaitaan,” which hit theaters on March 8, is a remake of the 2023 Gujarati hit “Vash.” With its steady box office performance and positive reception, the film continues to captivate audiences and solidify its position in the Bollywood box office landscape.
