Shah Rukh Khan’s latest cinematic venture, “Dunki,” continues its triumphant stride at the box office, establishing its mark both domestically and globally. The film, helmed by Rajkumari Hirani, has achieved an impressive milestone, crossing the ₹100-crore benchmark within the first week of its release.
As per recent reports by Sacnilk, on its sixth day in theaters, “Dunki” garnered ₹10.25 crore across all languages, contributing to a total domestic collection of ₹140.20 crore. Audiences have been effusive in their praise, not only for Shah Rukh Khan’s portrayal of Hardy but also for the outstanding performances delivered by Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani.
At the global box office, “Dunki” has amassed a staggering ₹256.40 crore, marking its widespread appeal beyond domestic borders. Red Chillies Entertainment, one of the film’s producers, commemorated this success by sharing a poster of Shah Rukh Khan on Instagram with the caption, “It just keeps getting happier.”
In a recent discussion featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, and director Rajkumari Hirani, the cast reminisced about particular sequences from the film. Taapsee fondly recalled a scene featuring Vicky Kaushal’s character in an inebriated state, highlighting Vicky’s commitment to such roles. She mentioned his previous role in “Manmarziyaan,” revealing that Vicky had actually consumed alcohol to enhance authenticity during filming.
Injecting humor into the conversation, Shah Rukh Khan quipped about being impressed by Vicky’s performance, jokingly stating, “I was impressed thinking that he is a good actor.” He further lauded Vicky’s prowess in “Dunki,” commending his exceptional portrayal of the scene, describing it as “fantastically performed.”
Despite its resounding success, “Dunki” faces stiff competition from Prabhas’ “Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1,” released a day after on December 22. “Salaar” has garnered ₹278.90 crore in just five days, intensifying the battle at the box office.
