
Mumbai witnessed a memorable moment during Coldplay’s second concert at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday, as the band’s frontman Chris Martin gave a special shoutout to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Proclaiming “Shah Rukh Khan, forever” to the audience, Martin’s gesture sent the fans into a frenzy and left the actor deeply touched.
The heartfelt tribute didn’t go unnoticed. On Monday, Shah Rukh Khan took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share his gratitude. Reposting the viral clip of the shoutout, the actor penned a warm note, expressing how Martin’s gesture made him feel special.
“Look at the stars…look how they shine for you….and everything you do! My brother Chris Martin, you make me feel special….like your songs,” wrote Shah Rukh. The actor added, “Love you and a big hug to your team. You are one in a billion, my friend. India loves u, @coldplay.”
He also shared the clip on his Instagram Stories with the caption, “Chris Martin forever ever,” referencing the musician’s words from the concert.
Coldplay’s India Tour
Coldplay is currently in India as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour. Following their two electrifying performances in Mumbai, the band is set to host a third concert at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday, January 23. Fans can also look forward to two shows at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and January 26.
The British band, known for their iconic hits like Fix You and Yellow, includes guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion, and manager Phil Harvey.
Shah Rukh and Coldplay’s History
This isn’t the first time Shah Rukh Khan and Chris Martin have shared a connection. Back in 2016, during Coldplay’s performance at the Global Citizen Festival in India, Shah Rukh hosted an exclusive after-party for the band at his residence.
