Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan opened up about his journey, the loss of his parents at a young age, and how their absence fueled his drive to succeed. Speaking at the Global Freight Summit in Dubai, the actor shared emotional insights about his life and career that resonated with audiences worldwide.
Early Loss and Profound Impact
Shah Rukh lost his father when he was 14 and his mother at the age of 24, leaving him and his sister to navigate life on their own. Recalling those difficult times, he said, “I had nowhere to go. It was just the two of us left in this world.” Despite the profound loss, Shah Rukh’s determination to make his parents proud became his guiding force.
He explained, “I felt one morning that maybe my parents are there somewhere, watching me. I didn’t want them to feel bad or guilty for leaving me too early. I worked hard to show them I was okay, to make them proud, even from above.”
Fueling His Ambition
The actor described his unconventional motivation for success. “I wanted to tell my parents, ‘Don’t feel guilty you left early; I am doing well.’ That thought drove me to work tirelessly,” he said, adding that his focus has now shifted to ensuring his children’s happiness and well-being.
“I am determined for my children now. They should lead healthy and happy lives. All three of them are beautiful, loving, and hardworking,” Shah Rukh remarked, expressing pride in Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.
