Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to travel to the United States for urgent medical treatment following an eye procedure in Mumbai that did not go as planned. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Khan, who had previously been hospitalized for a heat stroke in Ahmedabad, now requires additional medical attention to address complications from the eye treatment he underwent on July 29.
Sources reveal that Khan is expected to fly to the US by Tuesday, July 30, to rectify issues stemming from the recent procedure. Details regarding the nature of the eye treatment and what went wrong have not been disclosed.
Khan’s health has been under scrutiny since May 21, when he suffered a heat stroke while attending an IPL match in Ahmedabad as part of his role as co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The actor was admitted to KD Hospital for severe dehydration and was discharged the following day. His condition was later reported to be improving, with assurances from his longtime co-star and KKR co-owner, Juhi Chawla, who visited him in the hospital along with her husband Jay Mehta and Khan’s wife, Gauri Khan.
In a statement to News18 at the time, Chawla had expressed optimism about Khan’s recovery, stating, “Shah Rukh was not feeling too well last night but he is being attended to and was feeling much better this evening. God willing, he will soon be up, and in the stands on the weekend, cheering the team, as we play the finals.”
