Comedian Samay Raina has made his first activity on YouTube since the controversy surrounding his web show, India’s Got Latent. However, instead of a new video, Raina posted a simple text update exclusively for his paid subscribers.
Samay Raina’s YouTube Post
Currently on a comedy tour in Canada, Samay Raina took to YouTube on Friday night to share a post featuring just two emojis—a heart and a hug emoji—for his Members Only audience. The post, which seemed to convey solidarity, gained nearly 8,000 likes in under a minute.
A screenshot shared by a fan on YouTube showed 7,500 likes within a minute, and Reddit users further claimed that the post had crossed 10,000 likes in under four minutes. One Redditor remarked, “It has 11k likes in 4 minutes on members only. That’s big in my opinion.” Another added, “If it was a public post, it would have crossed 100k likes easily.”
Speculation arose among fans regarding Raina’s decision not to post a video. One Reddit user theorized, “He must have been planning to edit and upload a video but then realized he shouldn’t due to the controversy and ongoing legal issues.”
The ‘India’s Got Latent’ Controversy
Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent, faced backlash after guest Ranveer Allahbadia (also known as BeerBiceps) made a controversial remark on an episode. During the discussion, Allahbadia joked about “watching your parents have sex or joining them”, sparking outrage on social media.
As a result, multiple FIRs were filed against both Allahbadia and Raina, along with other panelists. The matter escalated to the Supreme Court, prompting Raina to delete all episodes of the show from YouTube.
What’s Next for Samay Raina?
With legal proceedings still underway, it remains uncertain when or if Raina will return with fresh content on YouTube. For now, his latest post signals a quiet but significant acknowledgment of the ongoing support from his loyal fan base.
