Salman Khan’s highly anticipated pan-India film with Jawan director Atlee has reportedly been put on hold. The action-packed entertainer, which was planned as a two-hero project, faced setbacks due to difficulties in casting a major South Indian star as the second lead, according to a new report.
Film Faces Casting Hurdles
A report by Pinkvilla stated that the film, tentatively titled A6, was envisioned as a high-budget action spectacle with a budget of ₹650 crore. The makers aimed to bring together two top stars from Bollywood and South Indian cinema to appeal to a pan-India audience.
A source quoted in the report revealed, “A6 with Salman Khan was always planned as a two-hero project, and the intent was to rope in two top names from the North and South to justify the mammoth budget. While Salman Khan okayed the film, Atlee and Sun Pictures were confident about signing either Kamal Haasan or Rajinikanth for the role. The conversations with both the Tamil cinema legends went on for over six months, but things didn’t fall in place due to multiple reasons.”
The report also mentioned that the filmmakers later explored the possibility of casting Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone for the role. However, financial constraints made it unfeasible.
Project Not Shelved Yet
Despite the delay, the project has not been shelved entirely. The makers are still exploring options, but with no second lead finalized, the film remains on hold for now.
Salman Khan’s Upcoming Film
