Prabhas' "Salaar" Eyeing Record-Breaking Box Office Debut: Expected to Dominate Indian and Global Markets

Prashanth Neel’s much-anticipated film “Salaar,” featuring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan, is poised to shatter opening day box office records in India and worldwide, gathering an estimated ₹95 crore within India and ₹175 crore globally on its first day of release.

The debut of “Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire” on screens this Friday elicited an enthusiastic response from both audiences and critics, with accolades pouring in for the performances of the actors and director Prashanth Neel’s vision. Fans in Hyderabad even celebrated ahead of the release, congregating at RTC X roads to commemorate the much-awaited premiere.

According to reports from Sacnilk, the film registered a staggering advance sale of 30.5 lakh tickets, amounting to ₹95 crore in India before its release. The momentum continued into day two, projecting a gross of ₹12.77 crore from advance bookings. The film’s worldwide box office collection on the opening day is estimated at a massive ₹175 crores.

Commencing screenings as early as 12:21 AM on Friday, “Salaar” is expected to maintain its momentum throughout the weekend, although final box office figures are yet to be tallied.

For Prabhas, hailed as making a potential ‘comeback’ after films like “Saaho,” “Radhe Shyam,” and “Adipurush” received mixed responses, “Salaar” signifies a return to form. The film appears to be tailor-made for the actor, emphasizing his strengths in action sequences and complementing the film’s overall ambiance.

“Salaar,” while drawing inspiration from the 2014 Kannada film “Ugramm” and acknowledging the style of “KGF” as acknowledged by director Prashanth, brings a unique narrative. Prabhas portrays Deva, alongside Prithviraj as Varadharaj Mannar, with Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Sriya Reddy, and others in pivotal roles.

Set in the lawless realm of Khansaar, “Salaar” delves into the story of two childhood friends—Deva and Varadha—whose unwavering bond faces an unexpected rupture. The sequel promises to unravel the events that transformed these allies into adversaries.

“Salaar” enters the box office fray alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki,” marking a high-stakes clash this weekend.
