Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic film Ramayana continues to be one of the most eagerly awaited movies in Indian cinema. Featuring an ensemble cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and now officially Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, the film promises to be a cinematic spectacle. In a recent interview with Connect Cine, Ravi Dubey confirmed his role and shared his experience working on the much-anticipated project.
Ravi Dubey on Playing Lakshman
When asked about his role as Lakshman, Ravi Dubey revealed that he had sought permission from the film’s makers before publicly acknowledging his part. He stated, “With due permission of my makers, yes, I am [playing Lakshman]. What I felt was there was a certain sanctity to the project. Namit sir and Nitesh sir might have a plan as to how they want to talk about it. I took due permission, and when they said yes, I am saying yes.”
Dubey emphasized the sincerity and earnestness with which the film is being made, describing it as a project filled with collective dedication.
Working With Ranbir Kapoor
Sharing his thoughts on his co-star Ranbir Kapoor, Ravi Dubey expressed deep admiration, calling him “the most graceful artist” he has ever met. “This is my first time working alongside a megastar like Ranbir Kapoor. His kindness, empathy, and grace towards everyone are remarkable. He works so hard, yet you’ll never see him showcase it. Every time he’s in front of the camera, he is impeccable,” Dubey said.
Dubey went on to regard Ranbir as the only commercially viable artist of his generation and compared his relationship with Kapoor to that of an elder brother.
About Ramayana
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is set to be a grand retelling of the Indian epic. Pre-production is reportedly in full swing, and a leaked image featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in costumes earlier this year further fueled excitement among fans. While the film’s official release date is yet to be announced, it is expected to hit the screens in 2025.
The film also stars Yash in a pivotal role, adding to the star-studded ensemble. With Tiwari at the helm and a team committed to presenting the story with authenticity and grandeur, Ramayana is poised to make history in Indian cinema.
