
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor stood by his close friend Ayan Mukerji as he mourned the loss of his father, veteran actor Deb Mukherjee, who passed away at the age of 83 on Friday morning due to age-related health complications.
Ranbir Kapoor Attends the Funeral, Serves as Pallbearer
Ranbir, who was on vacation in Alibaug with his wife Alia Bhatt, returned to Mumbai upon hearing the news. He not only attended the funeral but also played an active role in the final rites, carrying Deb Mukherjee’s mortal remains on his shoulders as a pallbearer. A viral picture shared by a paparazzi account shows Ranbir, dressed in a white shirt and blue jeans, helping carry the late actor’s body, wrapped in a white cloth, alongside family members.
Ranbir and Ayan share a strong bond, having collaborated on films like Wake Up Sid (2009), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), and Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva (2022). Their friendship goes beyond work, with Ranbir always being a pillar of support for Ayan.
Bollywood Pays Last Respects
Several Bollywood celebrities arrived at Ayan Mukerji’s residence to offer their condolences and pay their last respects to Deb Mukherjee. Among those present were Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol, and Jaya Bachchan.
