Netflix India Announces New Fantasy Action Series 'Rakt Bramhand - The Bloody Kingdom' from Raj & DK

Netflix India has unveiled its latest project, “Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom,” a highly anticipated fantasy action series created by acclaimed filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. The series marks a significant addition to Netflix India’s content lineup, promising a blend of fantasy, action, and visual spectacle.

Produced by Raj & DK through their production company, D2R Films, the series will be directed by Rahi Anil Barve, known for his work on the critically acclaimed film “Tumbbad.” The writing team for “Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom” includes Raj & DK, Barve, and Sita R Menon, who has previously collaborated with the duo on projects such as “Shor in the City,” “Go Goa Gone,” and Netflix series “Farzi” and “Guns & Gulaabs.”

Netflix’s statement describes the series as a “gripping, edgy narrative set against the backdrop of a fantastical kingdom with bloody action and spectacular visuals.” The new series is set to push the boundaries of the genre, aiming to captivate audiences with its ambitious storytelling and elaborate world-building.

Raj & DK expressed their excitement about the project, highlighting their passion for crafting unique stories rooted in fantasy. “This is uncharted territory which makes it all the more thrilling for us! Our goal is to develop a fictional world that is both original and reminiscent of the fantastical tales we have heard in our childhood,” the duo said. They also praised their collaborators, Rahi Anil Barve and Sita R Menon, and expressed their gratitude for Netflix’s enthusiastic support.

Monika Shergill, Vice-President of Content at Netflix India, shared her enthusiasm for the collaboration. “Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom will be Netflix India’s first-ever mega action-fantasy series and is set to redefine the genre by combining grand-scale action with a thrilling storyline. With creative geniuses like Raj & DK, and the highly talented Rahi Anil Barve leading the project, we are eager to bring this epic adventure to life and entertain audiences everywhere,” Shergill said.

The announcement of “Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom” comes on the heels of the successful release of “Guns & Gulaabs” in August 2023, which was Raj & DK’s first collaboration with Netflix. The new series is expected to elevate the fantasy genre on the streaming platform and is already generating significant anticipation among fans and industry watchers.
