Indian singer Neha Kakkar has finally addressed the controversy surrounding her Melbourne concert, where she arrived three hours late, leading to severe backlash from fans. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Neha revealed shocking details about the mismanagement by the event organisers, who allegedly abandoned her and her team without payment, food, or accommodation.
Neha Kakkar’s Emotional Response
Neha, who was heavily criticized by attendees for the delay, broke down while apologizing during the event. Fans reacted strongly, with some shouting, “Go back! Rest in your hotel,” and another adding, “This is not India, you’re in Australia.” Many expressed frustration over the long wait, with one saying, “We have been waiting for three hours.”
In her Instagram post, Neha clarified the circumstances, stating:
“They said I came 3 hours late, but did they even ask once what happened to me? What did they do to me or my brand? When I spoke on stage, I didn’t even tell anyone what happened because I didn’t want anyone to get harmed.”
Organisers Abandoned Neha & Her Team
The singer revealed that the event sponsors disappeared with her payment as well as money owed to others. She stated that her band was not provided with basic necessities, including food and water, leaving her husband and his team to arrange meals for them. Despite these hardships, Neha said she still went on stage and performed for free because her fans had been waiting for hours.
She further disclosed that the concert’s sound check was delayed for hours as the sound vendor, who had not been paid, refused to proceed. The organisers eventually stopped taking calls from her manager, leaving Neha and her team uncertain about whether the show would even happen.
Neha Expresses Gratitude
Neha concluded her statement by thanking those who supported her and understood her situation. She expressed gratitude to the audience members who stood by her and shared an emotional moment during the concert.
Though the experience was distressing, she chose not to reveal further details, stating that she had shared enough to clarify her side of the story.
