Mohanlal Hospitalized Due to High Fever and Breathlessness; Advised to Avoid Crowded Places

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has been admitted to Amrita Hospital in Kochi after experiencing high-grade fever, breathlessness, and generalized body aches, according to a statement released by the hospital on Sunday. The 64-year-old actor is suspected to have contracted a viral respiratory infection and has been prescribed medications along with five days of rest. He has also been advised to avoid crowded places during his recovery.

The statement from the hospital reads, “This is to certify that I have examined Mr. Mohanlal, 64 years old male, MRD No 1198168. He is having complaints of high-grade fever, breathing difficulty, and generalized myalgia. He is suspected to have a viral respiratory infection. Mohanlal returned to Kochi after completing the Gujarat schedule of his upcoming big-budget action movie, L2 Empuraan. The actor’s sudden hospitalization has concerned his fans, who are hoping for his speedy recovery.

Just a few months ago, Mohanlal made headlines with his lively performance of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Zinda Banda” at an award show in Kochi. The performance caught the attention of Shah Rukh Khan, who shared the video on social media and expressed his admiration for the Malayalam superstar. Their friendly exchange on social media delighted fans of both actors, with Mohanlal even suggesting that they dance together over breakfast.

Mohanlal, a veteran actor with a career spanning over four decades, has appeared in more than 400 films. He has been honored with India’s prestigious Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards in 2001 and 2019, respectively. Additionally, he holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Mohanlal’s directorial debut, Barroz, which is now set to premiere on October 2, 2024, just before the Navratri festival. The release was initially scheduled for March 28, 2024, but was postponed due to post-production delays.

As Mohanlal focuses on his recovery, fans and well-wishers across the country are sending their prayers and hoping to see him back in action soon.
