
Lisa, the Thai rapper, singer, and dancer from the renowned South Korean girl group Blackpink, is making a highly anticipated return to the music scene. The multi-talented artist recently took to Instagram to announce her new comeback song, “Rockstar,” revealing the release dates for different time zones. The song is set to drop on Thursday, June 27, at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT, and on Friday, June 28, at 7 AM TH / 9 AM KR.
Lisa shared a poster on her Instagram Stories to confirm the news, and her fans are eagerly awaiting the release. Earlier this month, on June 6, Lisa hinted at her comeback with a clip of an unknown song on TikTok, captioned “Coming soon.” She also encouraged her followers to pre-save the track on Spotify and pre-add it on Apple Music. In another TikTok video, she teased the song with the line, “Baby I am a Rockstar.”
Lisa, whose full name is Lalisa Manobal, has been making waves in the music industry since her debut with Blackpink in August 2016. Her solo career has also been noteworthy. She launched her own label, LLOUD, on February 8 after departing from YG Entertainment for solo activities. Additionally, she signed a solo partnership with RCA Records to release new music and has plans to release a new album by the end of 2024.
Lisa’s debut single album, “Lalisa,” released in September 2021, was a massive success. It set a record as the first album by a female artist to sell 736,000 copies in its first week in South Korea. The music video for “Lalisa” also broke records, garnering the most views in the first 24 hours on YouTube by a solo artist.
In addition to her music career, Lisa is set to make her acting debut in season 3 of the hit series “The White Lotus,” which is scheduled to release in early 2025.
