Kunal Kemmu’s directorial venture, “Madgaon Express,” kicked off its box office journey on a positive note, garnering ₹1.5 crore on its opening day, as reported by Sacnilk. The comedy-drama, released on March 22, marks Kemmu’s debut as a director and features a talented ensemble cast including Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, and Avinash Tiwary in lead roles.

The film follows the misadventures of three childhood friends on a beach excursion to Goa, which takes unexpected turns. Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, “Madgaon Express” also stars Nora Fatehi, Chhaya Kadam, and Remo D’Souza in pivotal roles.

Leading up to the film’s release, actress Soha Ali Khan, Kemmu’s wife, shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, showcasing the film’s production and promotional activities. In a heartfelt note, she praised Kemmu’s transition from actor to writer-director, acknowledging his dedication and growth in the filmmaking realm.

Film critic Saibal Chatterjee lauded “Madgaon Express” with a rating of 3 out of 5 stars, highlighting its engaging narrative and the comedic prowess of the lead actors. Chatterjee noted the film’s ability to maintain a lively pace without overstaying its welcome, with post-climax scenes adding surprising twists for viewers.

He particularly praised Avinash Tiwary’s portrayal of the stoic skeptic, emphasizing the actor’s ability to infuse humor while maintaining a strong character presence. Divyenndu and Pratik Gandhi also received acclaim for their comedic timing and unique character interpretations, contributing to the film’s overall vibrancy and entertainment value.
