India’s official entry for the 2025 Oscars, Laapataa Ladies, now titled Lost Ladies, has released a fresh poster as the film kicks off its campaign for the prestigious Academy Award.

The poster, shared on the film’s official Instagram account, highlights the film’s quirky and vibrant essence, featuring major characters Phool and Jaya. With a tagline that reads, “Sometimes you have to lose your way to find yourself,” the design reflects the adventurous and heartfelt journey of these two characters. The poster’s release was accompanied by a message from the team: “The wait is over! Presenting the official poster for Lost Ladies—a glimpse into the wild, heartfelt journey of Phool and Jaya! Huge shoutout to Jahan Singh Bakshi and Prashanth C for bringing our story to life with this stunning design.”

Fans and followers eagerly voiced their excitement in the comments, with one fan enthusiastically saying, “Get us the Oscar!” Another supporter added, “All the best for the Oscars,” while others praised the film’s narration and direction.

Directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Kindling Pictures, and Jio Studios, Lost Ladies takes a satirical look at gender dynamics and patriarchy in rural India. Set in 2001, the film’s storyline centers on two brides who are accidentally swapped during a train journey. The cast includes Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Ravi Kishan, Chhaya Kadam, and Geeta Aggarwal Sharma, all of whom play a role in this nuanced exploration of tradition and identity.

Lost Ladies debuted in theatres on March 1, 2024, following its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, where it received significant praise. With its critical acclaim and the release of this new Academy Awards campaign poster, fans and supporters are hopeful that Lost Ladies will capture international attention and bring home an Oscar for India.
