Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Collection Day 12: Akshay Kumar's Courtroom Drama Crosses Rs 70 Crore Milestone

Akshay Kumar’s latest release, Kesari Chapter 2, has crossed the Rs 70 crore mark at the domestic box office, cementing its position as a steady performer in theatres. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the courtroom drama earned Rs 2.5 crore on Day 12 (Tuesday), pushing its total net collection to Rs 70.65 crore.

The film, which continues to draw audiences with its compelling narrative and strong performances, recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 15.57% on April 29. Morning shows witnessed a turnout of 7.48%, followed by 14.53% in the afternoon, 16.40% in the evening, and a notable 23.88% occupancy during the night shows.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film’s second-weekend performance, stating, “Kesari Chapter 2 is steady on the crucial second Monday, aided by the #BOGO ticket offer.” He also highlighted the role of promotional strategies like the “#BlockbusterTuesdays” initiative, where ticket prices start at just Rs 99, in boosting mid-week collections.

Adarsh detailed the film’s week-two box office figures:

  • Friday: Rs 4.05 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 7.20 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 8.14 crore
  • Monday: Rs 2.65 crore
Total till Monday: Rs 68.58 crore (India nett)

Kesari Chapter 2 is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. The film delves into the landmark legal battle led by Justice C Sankaran Nair in the aftermath of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, challenging the British Raj in court.

Akshay Kumar headlines the cast as Justice Nair, with R Madhavan playing Advocate Neville McKinley. Ananya Panday appears as Dilreet Gill, while Regina Cassandra, Simon Paisley Day, and Alexx O’Nell also feature in pivotal roles.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 is a joint production by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films. As it enters its third week, the film is expected to maintain momentum with word-of-mouth and continued promotional efforts.
