Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Akshay Kumar-R Madhavan Starrer Nears ₹40 Crore

Karan Singh Tyagi’s courtroom drama, Kesari Chapter 2, continues to perform well at the box office, inching closer to ₹40 crore in India within its first five days of release.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2, starring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, has shown impressive box office performance since its release. According to Sacnilk, the film has grossed ₹38.37 crore net in India as of its fifth day, and is on track to cross ₹40 crore in the coming days.

The film saw a steady collection on its fifth day, bringing in an estimated ₹4.37 crore net. This follows a successful opening week where the film had a strong start, earning ₹7.75 crore on its opening day (April 18). The weekend saw a significant increase with ₹9.75 crore on Friday and ₹12 crore on Saturday. The film continued to hold firm on Monday with ₹4.5 crore net, despite entering the weekday slump.

Kesari Chapter 2 has not only performed well at the domestic box office but also made waves globally, surpassing ₹55 crore worldwide within its first four days. This success further solidifies the film’s position as one of the top contenders at the box office this month.

Controversial Scene Sparks Debate

One particular moment in Kesari Chapter 2 has generated considerable buzz. Akshay Kumar’s character, lawyer C Sankaran Nair, is seen saying the words “fk you” to a Britisher in a heated exchange. The usage of this strong language in a historical drama has caught the attention of viewers and critics alike. In an interview with Filmy Shilmy, director Karan Singh Tyagi defended the inclusion of this scene, explaining, “It was very important for us to include the ‘fk you’ in the film because, for us, the whole point was to look the British in the eye and say ‘f**k you’ for what they had done. That was the courage we imbibed from Sankaran Nair’s story, and it’s the same courage we wanted to depict.”

About Kesari Chapter 2

Kesari Chapter 2 is a spiritual sequel to Akshay Kumar’s 2019 hit Kesari, based on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the courageous legal battle that followed. Akshay Kumar stars as C Sankaran Nair, a lawyer who takes on the British Crown following the massacre, while R Madhavan plays his opposing counsel, Neville McKinley. Ananya Panday portrays Dilreet Gill, a key character in the story.

The film has garnered positive reviews for its gripping narrative, powerful performances, and its portrayal of a critical moment in Indian history. Kesari Chapter 2 continues to captivate audiences with its emotional depth and historical significance, proving that it has a lasting impact at the box office and among critics.

With strong performance at the box office, the film’s steady run suggests that Kesari Chapter 2 is poised for continued success in the coming weeks.
