Merry Christmas Set to Premiere on Netflix: Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi's Thrilling Ride Comes Home

In a delightful surprise for movie enthusiasts, Sriram Raghavan’s much-anticipated romantic thriller, “Merry Christmas,” is all set to make its digital debut on the popular streaming platform Netflix. The film, which stars the dynamic duo of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, promises to deliver an immersive cinematic experience right into the comfort of viewers’ homes.

The announcement of the film’s release was made via Netflix India’s official Instagram handle, where a tantalizing clip of the movie was shared with the caption, “This year, Christmas has come early, and it’s time to unwrap the best gift ever!! Merry Christmas is coming tomorrow, only on Netflix!” Viewers can mark their calendars for the release date, as “Merry Christmas” is scheduled to premiere on Netflix India on March 8.

“Merry Christmas” weaves together elements of romance, crime, and suspense against the backdrop of 1980s Bombay, showcasing Sriram Raghavan’s signature style of storytelling. The narrative follows the intriguing encounter between Albert (played by Vijay Sethupathi), who returns to the city, and a lonely mother named Maria (portrayed by Katrina Kaif) and her child on a fateful Christmas Eve. However, their festive night takes a dark turn when a dead body is discovered in Maria’s apartment, setting the stage for a gripping tale of mystery and intrigue.

Apart from the stellar performances of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, “Merry Christmas” boasts an ensemble cast including Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand in the Hindi version, while the Tamil version features Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams in pivotal roles.

Early reviews of “Merry Christmas” have been promising, with critics praising its slow-burn narrative and engrossing storyline. According to a review by Hindustan Times, the film’s gripping plot keeps viewers hooked, offering a cinematic experience that encourages deep analysis and reflection.

As fans eagerly await the digital premiere of “Merry Christmas,” Katrina Kaif gears up for her next project, “Jee Le Zaraa,” a buddy road movie alongside Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra. Meanwhile, Sriram Raghavan continues to make waves in the industry, having recently produced Varun Grover’s directorial debut “All India Rank” and embarking on the directorial journey of “Ikkis,” a period war drama featuring Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra.
