Kareena Kapoor, a celebrated Bollywood actress, is stepping into the producer’s role with her upcoming film The Buckingham Murders. The trailer for the mystery thriller was unveiled on Tuesday in Mumbai, marking a significant milestone in Kapoor’s career as a first-time producer. The film, set to hit theaters on September 13, 2024, is a collaborative project between Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms, led by Ektaa Kapoor.
In her remarks at the trailer launch, Kareena Kapoor expressed her enthusiasm and personal connection to the project. “The film is very special to all of us,” she said, according to NDTV. “Today, language does not matter. It is not important which language you are making a film in. What matters is, what are you making. Watch what we have made. We have done this with our hearts.”
Kareena also took the opportunity to praise Ektaa Kapoor, acknowledging her unwavering support throughout the production process. “I want to thank my dear Ektaa, who had the belief and guts to always stand by me, to say ‘Okay, we are going to do this together.’ Whatever we have done, we have always been super successful. I am very confident again this time. It is going to be fabulous. She has been my backbone.”
The film The Buckingham Murders, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Hansal Mehta, features Kareena Kapoor in the role of a detective investigating the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire. The screenplay is crafted by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker. Alongside Kareena Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor, the project is supported by Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films, with Shobha Kapoor also backing the film.
Kareena Kapoor, who has been a prominent figure in Bollywood for over twenty years, shared her passion for acting and filmmaking. “I have grown up wanting to be on the big screen, wanting to act all my life. Acting is in my blood. I don’t know anything else. I love being in front of the camera. It is my passion and I want to keep doing it forever,” she added.
