Kangana Ranaut Heads to Hollywood with Horror Film 'Blessed Be the Evil'; Fans React to Her Surprise Move

Actor Kangana Ranaut is all set to make her Hollywood debut with an upcoming horror drama titled Blessed Be the Evil, marking a major shift from her previously stated disinterest in pursuing a career in the West. The film, produced by Lions Movies, will also feature Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone, daughter of Sylvester Stallone.

According to Variety, the movie will be directed by Anurag Rudra and co-written by Rudra and Gatha Tiwary. Set to begin production later this year in New York, the decision to film in the U.S. reportedly stems from the producers’ desire to avoid potential complications arising from newly announced Trump-era tariffs impacting the entertainment industry.

The film follows a Christian couple coping with a tragic miscarriage who move to a remote, abandoned farm only to be haunted by a sinister force that tests their love and faith. The project is scheduled to be pitched to international buyers at the Cannes Film Market.

A Change of Heart

This move has surprised fans and industry watchers alike, considering Kangana’s earlier views on working in Hollywood. Back in 2017, Kangana said in an interview with Mid-Day, “It would be stupid for anyone to make the move to the West now. Their theatre business is crashing… Asia, on the other hand, is where Hollywood was 15 years ago.”

She echoed a similar sentiment during a 2022 appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, suggesting that India had enough talent and opportunities for actors like her, and there was no need to work abroad.

In 2021, she even expressed concern about Hollywood films dominating Indian cinema screens, calling for national unity and support for regional Indian films across languages like Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Punjabi.

Fans React: Surprise, Support, and Sarcasm

The announcement stirred a storm on social media. While some fans celebrated Kangana’s international leap, others pointed out her apparent U-turn from earlier statements. One fan wrote, “No hate to her, but honestly, getting meaningful work in Hollywood is extremely difficult. I just hope it doesn’t turn out like Priyanka’s journey.”

Several users encouraged Kangana to reconnect with Priyanka Chopra, with whom she once shared a warm rapport. “She needs to work with Priyanka Chopra in Hollywood,” said one comment, while another added, “I wish she didn’t ruin her relationship with Priyanka.”

Many admired her talent and hoped the Hollywood debut would showcase her acting prowess globally. “Kangana Ranaut’s talent will truly shine in Hollywood,” one fan wrote. However, some also referenced her long-standing feud with Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar. “Tonight will be a tough night for Karan Johar,” a user quipped.

Another added a humorous twist, writing, “Never in my life did I see this coming… Kangana Ranaut and Tyler Posey in one movie? LMAO.”

Despite the divided opinions, Blessed Be the Evil marks a significant new chapter for Kangana Ranaut, as she ventures into uncharted territory—Hollywood horror.
