Actor and politician Kangana Ranaut has revealed the new release date for her upcoming film “Emergency,” where she will portray the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Kangana shared a new poster of the film along with the announcement.
The poster features Kangana as Indira Gandhi, with her gaze turned away from the camera, capturing the essence of the character. “Emergency” is now set to hit cinemas on September 6, 2024, marking the beginning of the 50th year of Independent India’s darkest chapter.
The caption accompanying the poster reads, “The Beginning of the 50th Year of Independent India’s Darkest Chapter, Announcing #KanganaRanaut’s #Emergency In Cinemas on 6th September 2024. The film, produced under Kangana’s Manikarnika Films Production banner, has faced multiple delays, including a recent postponement during the Lok Sabha Elections. Kangana serves as the lead actor, writer, director, and producer of “Emergency.”
Featuring a star-studded cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik, “Emergency” is backed by Zee Studios and produced by Renu Pitti and Kangana. The screenplay and dialogues are penned by Ritesh Shah, with music by Sanchit Balhara.
