South Indian superstar Jr NTR recently made a heartfelt gesture by taking his mother, Shalini, to her hometown of Kundapura in Karnataka, fulfilling a long-held dream of hers just before her birthday on September 2. This special trip also saw the actor meet up with notable Kannada film industry figures, director Prashanth Neel and actor Rishab Shetty, adding to the significance of the occasion.
The highlight of the visit was their stop at the revered Udupi Sri Krishna Matha temple, where Jr NTR, accompanied by his mother, Rishab Shetty, and wife Lakshmi Pranathi, sought blessings. The actor shared the experience on social media, expressing his joy in making his mother’s dream come true. “My mother’s forever dream of bringing me to her hometown Kundapura and seeking darshan at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha has finally come true! To make it happen just before her birthday on September 2nd is the best gift I could give her,” Jr NTR wrote on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
Jr NTR also extended his gratitude to producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, along with Prashanth Neel and Rishab Shetty, for their support in making the trip memorable. “Thanks to @VKiragandur sir and my dearest friend Prashanth Neel for joining me and making this possible. A special thanks to my dear friend @rishabshettyofficial, whose presence and support made this moment incredibly special,” he added.
Rishab Shetty also shared snapshots of the visit, capturing moments inside the temple and the group enjoying a traditional meal. He expressed his reverence in a post written in Kannada, “In the abode of Sri Krishna,” accompanied by the hashtags #Udupi and #udupisrikrishna.
Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Jr NTR is gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated film Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The film is set to hit theatres on September 27. Additionally, Jr NTR will resume work on an untitled project directed by Prashanth Neel, who recently directed Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, featuring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan. A sequel to this film is also in the pipeline.
Meanwhile, Rishab Shetty is busy with Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to his critically acclaimed film Kantara, in which he will not only act but also helm the project. The collaboration between these talented artists continues to build anticipation among fans across the South Indian film industry.
