Jr NTR and acclaimed director Prashanth Neel have officially announced the release date for their eagerly awaited film, tentatively titled NTR31. The film, which has been highly anticipated since the collaboration was first announced in 2022, is set to hit theatres on January 9, 2026.
The exciting news was shared on August 9 via the official X handle of Mythri Movie Makers, the film’s production house. The post revealed the release date along with a dynamic new poster featuring Jr NTR, signaling the film’s epic scale and grandeur. The announcement read, “This time, the earth will tremble under his reign! #NTRNeel will step onto the soil on January 9th, 2026. MAN OF MASSES @tarak9999 #PrashanthNeel @MythriOfficial @NTRArtsOfficial (sic).”
The film’s opening ceremony is expected to be a grand affair, with broadcasts planned across various television and YouTube channels. Although the project was initially slated to commence earlier, it faced delays due to the busy schedules of both Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel. Full-fledged shooting for NTR31 is now anticipated to begin in September 2024, with Jr NTR expected to join slightly later due to his ongoing commitments with the film Devara.
There is speculation that the film may be titled Dragon, though this has yet to be confirmed. The project is currently in its pre-production phase, with considerable anticipation surrounding its high-octane commercial appeal.
In the meantime, Jr NTR is set to star in Devara: Part One, directed by Koratala Siva and featuring Janhvi Kapoor. This film is scheduled for release in September, further adding to the buzz surrounding Jr NTR’s upcoming projects.
