Second Crorepati Emerges on Kaun Banega Crorepati 15 as Contestant Walks Away with ₹1 Crore and a Car

The iconic Indian quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, has crowned its second crorepati of the season, and it’s none other than Jasnil Kumar, a store manager hailing from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. While he ventured to tackle the final ₹7 crore question, he eventually chose to gracefully exit the game, securing a prize of ₹1 crore. Jasnil’s remarkable achievement was further sweetened with the addition of a brand-new car to his winnings.

The pivotal moment in Jasnil Kumar’s journey came with the nerve-wracking ₹7 crore question posed by the show’s legendary host, Amitabh Bachchan. The question that made television viewers hold their breath was: “Leena Gade, a person of Indian origin, is the first female race engineer to win which of the following races?” The multiple-choice options presented were: “A. Indianapolis 500, B. 24 Hours of Le Mans, C. 12 Hours of Sebring, and D. Monaco Grand Prix.” After opting to quit the show, Jasnil Kumar, with conviction, selected option B, which turned out to be the correct answer, propelling him into the crorepati league.

However, the journey to crorepati status also included a significant milestone — the ₹1 crore question. This question inquired, “The gold left after a yagya performed by whom was used by the Pandavas to refill their treasury and conduct the Ashwamedha yagya?” The choices provided were: “A. Vikarna, B. Marutta, C. Kubera, and D. Likhita.” Jasnil Kumar’s astute response, “B. Marutta,” sealed his status as a crorepati.

Reflecting on his impressive achievement, Jasnil Kumar shared his long-held aspiration to claim the crorepati title. “For years, I have dreamt of this day where my name is announced as the crorepati. I have visualized this scene in my head so many times. Honestly, I also prepared well to ensure that I win big and hence I was confident. It has been a long journey for me to reach there, and it is almost like a tapasya for me,” he expressed.

During his stint on Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, Amitabh Bachchan’s heartfelt gesture of offering him a jacket when he was feeling cold left a lasting impression on Jasnil Kumar. “It was like a magical thing for me and it brought me luck. After he gifted it to me, I felt so positive and could reach my goal. As for sir, I will never forget his kindness and humility. He hugged me after the game and said ‘well done.’ It was a once-in-a-lifetime memory,” he recalled.

The enduring appeal of Kaun Banega Crorepati continues to captivate audiences across India, with Amitabh Bachchan’s hosting charisma at the helm. Notably, the show has seen few exceptions to Amitabh Bachchan’s tenure as the quizmaster, with Shah Rukh Khan hosting the third season in 2007.

In addition to Jasnil Kumar’s recent triumph, Jaskaran Singh became the first contestant to secure ₹1 crore on Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, solidifying the show’s reputation for providing life-changing opportunities. The gripping quiz show airs on Sony TV, keeping viewers eagerly awaiting more inspiring moments and intellectual challenges.
