Jaideep Ahlawat Reacts to Viral Dance in Jewel Thief: “I’m from Haryana, I’ve Danced in Many Weddings”

Known for his gritty, intense performances, Jaideep Ahlawat has taken fans by surprise with his unexpected dance moves in the upcoming Netflix film Jewel Thief. The actor’s energetic performance in the recently released song Jaadu went viral on social media, with some even speculating it was AI-generated. Now, Ahlawat has responded to the buzz in his trademark grounded style.

Speaking at the trailer launch of Jewel Thief, Ahlawat laughed off the AI speculation, saying, “Genuinely, there was nothing much we did with it. I don’t know why people are so surprised to see me dance. I am from Haryana and have danced in lots of ghudchadis (wedding processions).”

He also gave a shout-out to choreographers Shazia and Piyush, crediting them for making the dance sequences enjoyable and manageable. “Dancing is okay, Shazia and Piyush just made our jobs easy,” he added.

Co-star Nikita Dutta shared a humorous behind-the-scenes moment from the Jaadu shoot. “Usually, when it’s someone else’s turn to dance, the rest of us go to our vans and take a break. But when Jaideep sir was about to go and dance in front of the camera, we all sat and watched, thinking — Jaideep is going to dance!” she said.

Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, Jewel Thief is a high-stakes heist thriller set to release on Netflix on April 25. The film stars Saif Ali Khan as the protagonist locked in a gripping battle with Jaideep Ahlawat’s mafia boss character. The narrative unfolds across Mumbai, Istanbul, and Budapest, promising a global adventure packed with action and suspense.

Ahlawat also shared his excitement about stepping into the heist genre. “A film that is so interesting, challenging, and as exciting as any project or role of mine. It’s the experience of getting into a new universe with a bunch of people who are as excited as you to deliver the best,” he said in an earlier statement.

He added, “The heist film was something I always wanted to explore, and what better than collaborating with the best co-stars and makers like Saif and Siddharth? We had a blast on set. Teamwork determines how a film comes to life.”

With Jewel Thief, Ahlawat not only expands his acting repertoire but also wins hearts for being effortlessly real—both on and off screen.
