Starring Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos, the Marvel series premieres June 24 on JioHotstar with a 3-episode launch
Marvel fans have a new hero to rally behind as the official trailer for Ironheart has been released, showcasing the journey of teenage genius Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thorne, who builds her own advanced Iron Man-style suit. The action-packed series is set to premiere with a three-episode drop on June 24 exclusively on JioHotstar.
The show is executive produced by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and follows Riri’s evolution into Ironheart after her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The trailer opens with a high-stakes job interview that Riri nails in style, before shifting focus to her building the iconic suit and navigating shady deals to complete her mission. With sleek visuals and a familiar iron suit design, the trailer evokes strong Iron Man nostalgia while introducing a new legacy.
Riri’s journey is set to pit her against a new antagonist, The Hood, portrayed by In the Heights star Anthony Ramos. The trailer hints at a complex relationship between technology and mysticism as Riri’s science-based ingenuity clashes with The Hood’s magic-powered schemes.
Fans took to social media shortly after the trailer release to share their thoughts. One excited viewer commented, “Ironheart is about to shock some people!” Another fan noted, “The trailer looks promising. Big Coogler fan, glad he’s attached.” However, some expressed skepticism about the villain’s design, with one stating, “He looks like he’s cosplaying at a Renaissance festival.”
The series is directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes, with a diverse cast that includes Alden Ehrenreich, Manny Montana, Zoe Terakes, and Lyric Ross. Created by Chinaka Hodge, Ironheart marks another milestone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s expanding television slate.
With themes of legacy, innovation, and self-discovery, Ironheart aims to continue Tony Stark’s legacy through a fresh and youthful lens—positioning Riri Williams as the next-gen tech superhero.
