India's Sini Shetty Dazzles in ₹2.2 Lakh Banarasi Silk Saree at 71st Miss World Opening Ceremony

India’s representative, Sini Shetty, made a resplendent statement at the opening ceremony of the 71st Miss World pageant, held at The Ashoka Hotel in Delhi. Bedecked in a luxurious red Banarasi silk saree valued at ₹2.2 lakh, Shetty exuded elegance and grace, setting the fashion trends ablaze and capturing the hearts of onlookers.

In a celebration of India’s rich heritage and cultural legacy, Sini Shetty chose to don the timeless attire of a saree for her debut on the Miss World stage. Taking to her social media platforms, she shared stunning pictures and videos that instantly went viral, showcasing her in the exquisite ensemble.

Explaining her choice of attire, Shetty emphasized the symbolic significance of the saree, stating, “Tracing back thousands of years in Indian history, the saree symbolises the rich history of our culture and the deep-rooted traditions that weave the fabric of our identity.” Her red Benarasi silk saree, paired with a purple embroidered blouse, was designed by Jayanti Reddy, renowned for her eponymous luxury label known for its blend of traditional aesthetics and contemporary style.

Speaking about the craftsmanship and intricate detailing of her attire, Sini Shetty expressed her admiration for Jayanti Reddy’s collections, highlighting the designer’s commitment to indigenous fabrics and handwoven textiles. The saree, adorned with delicate hand embroidery, exemplified timeless elegance and sophistication.

The opulent ensemble was complemented by Sini Shetty’s choice of accessories, including precious stone-studded earrings, maangtika, a gold ring, and bangles from Curio Cottage. Her makeup accentuated her features with rosy blushed cheeks, winged eyeliner, and soft curls framing her face.

Styled by Raksha Singh, Sini Shetty’s appearance at the Miss World opening ceremony garnered widespread attention, not only for her striking beauty but also for her sartorial choice that celebrated India’s cultural heritage on a global platform.
