Indian-born bestselling author Luke Gracias pitches first Australia-India Film Co-Production.

Gold Coast [Australia], July 29 (IANS): Film-maker, environmentalist and bestselling author Luke Gracias is meeting with film producers in India to pitch ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’, a musical romantic comedy set in Mumbai and the Gold Coast, Australia.

Haven’t Met You Yet is the catchcry of every romantic who believes they have yet to meet the love of their life. Set in the 1980s and 1990s, music is used as a signature of the times.

Gracias is pitching his film script under the recently signed Australia-India film co-production agreement, which is set up to help Australian producers reach audiences in India—the world’s largest growing film market. “Australia and India are great partners, and this co – production agreement will encourage further film collaborations,” Mr Gracias said.

Gracias, an environmental specialist, works in the fields of bio-fuels, decarbonisation and green energy. He is also the CEO of Instinct India, which was involved in bringing Bollywood film and TV projects such as Singh is Kinng to be shot in Australia.

“Singh is Kinng was the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2008” Mr Gracias noted. “It shows the market appeal of joint Australian-Indian film collaboration.”

Based on the tourism generated from Singh is Kinng, Instinct India was nominated for the Premier’s Export awards in 2008.

His debut supernatural horror bestselling thriller, The Devil’s Prayer, was the prestigious Shadow Award Finalist for Best Australian Horror Novel 2016. The sequel, an environmental masterclass on the challenges we face, No Shadow without Light, was Crossword Bookstores’ Book of the Month in April and May 2022, and is held in the prestigious Vatican libraries. Recently, with New Market Studios, he released his third book, Dogboy v Catfish, as an audiobook.
