"Indian Angels": World's First Angel Investment Show to Debut on JioCinema

Digikore Studios has introduced “Indian Angels,” hailed as the world’s first angel investment show, which will be available for streaming on the JioCinema OTT platform. “Indian Angels” offers a unique opportunity for angel investors to back fledgling startups, and it also extends an invitation to viewers to step into the world of investment themselves. The inaugural episode of “Indian Angels” is scheduled for a late October release, with subsequent episodes launching weekly on JioCinema.

With a mission to make startup investing accessible to the masses, “Indian Angels” promises to be a game-changer. This show aims to empower everyday individuals who have aspired to invest in startups but may have been hindered by a lack of knowledge or a formal platform to guide them.

The panel of angel investors featured on “Indian Angels” includes notable figures from the business world, such as Ankit Agrawal (Founder and CEO of InsuranceDekho), Shreedha Singh (CEO and Co-founder of T.A.C – The Ayurveda Co), Kunal Kishore (Founder and director of Value 360), Ajinkya Firodia (Managing Director of Kinetic Engineering Ltd.), Rikant Pittie (Co-Founder of EaseMyTrip and director), and Aparna Thygarajan (Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer of Shobitam).

Abhishek More, Founder and CEO of Digikore Studios, described “Indian Angels” as a pioneering initiative that embodies innovation and the limitless potential of OTT platforms. This show goes beyond conventional entertainment, heralding a movement that seeks to redefine investment perspectives.

A spokesperson from JioCinema expressed their excitement for this innovative endeavor, highlighting how “Indian Angels” places investment opportunities at the forefront of screens and democratizes angel investing. It is expected to inspire, educate, and empower viewers, ushering in a new era in business entertainment.

In a related development, the third season of the business reality show “Shark Tank India” is gearing up for production and is set to feature an array of new sharks. Ritesh Agarwal, Founder of OYO Rooms, Deepinder Goyal, Founder and CEO of Zomato, and Azhar Iqubal, CEO of Inshorts, have joined the panel alongside other prominent entrepreneurs.

The upcoming season will also include names like Namita Thapar (CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Anupam Mittal (Founder of Shaadi.com), Aman Gupta (Co-founder and CMO of boAt), Vineeta Singh (Co-founder and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics), and Amit Jain (CEO and Co-founder of CarDekho) as key sharks. Season 3 of “Shark Tank India” is slated to stream on the Sony Liv OTT platform, although the official release date is yet to be announced.

These developments underscore the dynamic and evolving landscape of investment and entrepreneurship in India’s vibrant business ecosystem.
