A government school teacher from Yusufguda, Hyderabad, has claimed that students’ behavior has worsened due to the influence of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa films. Speaking to the Education Commission, she expressed concerns over the impact of mass media on young minds, citing students’ reckless behavior and use of vulgar language.
Teacher Criticizes Pushpa Influence
In a video shared by V6 News, the teacher said she feels like she has “failed as an administrator” after noticing students adopting “unbearable hairstyles” and speaking inappropriately. She added, “This issue is not just in government schools but also in private institutions. We focus only on education and ignore this, but I feel like I’m failing.”
The teacher further claimed that disciplining students has become difficult, as strict action could lead to extreme consequences. “They don’t seem to care even when we call their parents. You can’t even punish them because it might drive them to suicide. I blame mass media for all this. Half the students in my school have become worse due to Pushpa,” she stated.
Mixed Reactions on Social Media
Her remarks sparked a debate on social media, with some users agreeing while others criticized her views.
A supporter wrote, “What she said is true. Some students do get influenced by such movies.” Another commented, “It’s okay if you don’t do good, but don’t make things worse.”
However, others mocked the teacher’s statement. One user sarcastically wrote, “Then why don’t you teach students for free after watching SIR?” Another joked, “If movies influenced career choices, students would become IAS officers after Game Changer or farmers after Maharshi.” One person, however, pointed out, “At the end of the day, it’s the students who are affected.”
