HIT: The Third Case Box Office Day 4: Nani's Film Becomes First in Franchise to Cross ₹100 Crore Globally

Nani’s action-packed thriller HIT: The Third Case has created a historic moment for the HIT franchise by becoming its first film to cross the coveted ₹100 crore mark at the global box office. Released on May 1, the film collected an impressive ₹101 crore worldwide within just four days of release, setting a new benchmark for the investigative crime series.

Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, who also helmed the previous two installments, HIT 3 is not only the director’s first ₹100 crore grosser but also a major milestone in Nani’s growing filmography. Production house Wall Poster Cinema announced the news on Monday with a celebratory poster stating, “Sarkaar’s Century – ₹101+ crore gross worldwide for #HIT3 in 4 days.”

Nani, who plays SP Arjun Sarkaar in the movie, took to social media to express his gratitude, writing, “Thank you. This weekend. You gave us and cinema 101 reasons to celebrate. #HIT3.”

Franchise’s Growth and HIT 3’s Standout Success

The HIT franchise has seen a steady rise in popularity. The first film, HIT: The First Case starring Vishwak Sen, grossed ₹8 crore globally in 2020. Its Hindi remake featuring Rajkummar Rao performed similarly. The sequel, HIT: The Second Case with Adivi Sesh, made ₹41.85 crore worldwide upon its 2022 release.

HIT 3, however, has shattered expectations, becoming the franchise’s top-grossing installment and continuing Nani’s streak of box office hits. His recent film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram crossed ₹100 crore, and Hi Nanna collected ₹76.35 crore. Still, it’s Dasara from 2023 that holds the crown with ₹118.5 crore in lifetime collections.

Cast and Plot

Alongside Nani, the film stars Srinidhi Shetty as Mrudula, his love interest, and Prateik Babbar as the chilling antagonist Alpha. HIT 3 follows SP Arjun Sarkaar as he unravels a string of gruesome murders committed across the country using the same modus operandi. With gripping storytelling, sharp cinematography, and intense performances, the movie has resonated strongly with audiences.

What’s Next for the Franchise?

The HIT universe is set to expand with HIT 4, which will feature actor Karthi in the lead role of ACP Veerappan. With the latest film’s roaring success, expectations are soaring for the next installment in this fast-evolving thriller series.

Fans and industry insiders alike are hailing HIT 3 as a triumph for Telugu cinema and a sign of strong audience interest in intelligent, high-stakes storytelling.
