Prashanth Varma’s latest offering, “Hanu-Man,” has become a roaring success at the box office, completing its first week with flying colors. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film’s week 1 collection has surpassed the week 1 earnings of the Hindi versions of blockbuster films “KGF: Chapter 1” and “Kantara” during the corresponding period. The film, released on January 12, continues to captivate audiences with its mass appeal, particularly in the Hindi heartland.
On day 6, “Hanu-Man” added ₹2.25 crore to its Hindi version collection, pushing its total earnings to an impressive ₹21.02 crore. Taran Adarsh took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the good news, highlighting the film’s consistent performance over the weekdays. The movie’s day-wise earnings were as follows: Friday ₹2.15 crore, Saturday ₹4.05 crore, Sunday ₹6.17 crore, Monday ₹3.80 crore, Tuesday ₹2.60 crore, and Wednesday ₹2.25 crore.
Despite facing stiff competition from other much-anticipated films like “Captain Miller,” “Merry Christmas,” and “Guntur Kaaram,” “Hanu-Man” managed to stand tall in the Sankranti race. Taran Adarsh acknowledged the film’s resilience, stating that it continues to find appreciation and acceptance among audiences. The film’s total earnings of ₹18.77 crore by Day 5 indicated its strong performance at the Indian box office.
While the film received a 2.5-star rating from critic Saibal Chatterjee, who highlighted the initial focus on character development, “Hanu-Man” has struck a chord with viewers. The film features Teja Sajja in the titular role, supported by a talented cast including Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Deepak Shetty, and Vennela Kishore.
With “Hanu-Man” showing no signs of slowing down, it is poised to achieve an excellent total surpassing ₹23 crore in its first week. The film’s success not only solidifies its place in the Sankranti box office battle but also establishes it as a major player in the Indian film industry.
As “Hanu-Man” continues to leap into the league of superheroes, its box office triumph reaffirms its status as a crowd-pleaser and a significant contributor to the cinematic landscape.
