Hajipur, Bihar – In a remarkable tale of compassion and dedication, Dr. Bhaskar, a young medical officer from Hajipur, Bihar, has been working tirelessly to bring quality healthcare to rural communities across the state. Affectionately known as ‘Gaaon Ka Doctor,’ Dr. Bhaskar has made it his mission to provide free medical consultations, generic medicines, and sanitary napkins to those who need it most.

A native of Hajipur, Dr. Bhaskar’s journey began in 2019, when he was still in medical school. He started conducting free medical camps in Vaishali, the birthplace of Lord Mahavira, at Paramhans School, with the aim of making healthcare accessible to all, regardless of financial status.

Over the past 6 years, Dr. Bhaskar has conducted over 100 camps, treating 10,000+ patients and educating rural women on menstrual hygiene. His camps have been a game-changer for the women in rural Bihar, who often lack access to basic healthcare facilities.

“I was suffering from a chronic illness, but couldn’t afford treatment,” says Rani Devi, a patient. “Dr. Bhaskar’s camp saved my life. He’s a blessing to our community.”

“Dr. Bhaskar’s work is a beacon of hope for the rural communities in Bihar,” says Dr. Ravi Shankar, a senior medical officer. “He is an inspiration to us all, and his dedication to serving the underserved is truly commendable.”

Dr. Bhaskar’s ultimate goal is to open a free hospital in Bihar, where everyone can access quality healthcare. “I want to provide healthcare to all the underprivileged people who don’t have access to it,” he says passionately. “This is my way of giving back to society, and I’m grateful to my grandfather for inspiring me to do this noble work.”

Dr. Bhaskar’s selfless work has earned him recognition and accolades from across the state. His dedication to bringing healthcare to rural Bihar is a shining example of how one person can make a difference in the lives of many.
