Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular Indian sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,’ has been reported missing for six days. Initial police investigations suggest that Singh, 50, was on the verge of marriage but was grappling with financial difficulties.
According to sources close to the investigation, Singh’s father filed a complaint with the police, prompting them to register a kidnapping case. It was revealed that the actor had withdrawn ₹7,000 from an ATM in Delhi before his disappearance. His last known location was traced to Palam, a few kilometers from his residence, where his phone was subsequently switched off on April 24.
Singh was scheduled to fly from Delhi to Mumbai on April 22. However, he never arrived in Mumbai as planned. Surveillance footage captured him at a traffic intersection in Palam around 9:14 pm, which was after his flight’s scheduled departure time of 8:30 pm. The footage shows Singh carrying a backpack as he crossed a road.
Authorities are actively investigating the case, examining security camera footage near Singh’s residence to determine the route he took to reach Delhi airport. The police have formed several teams to trace the actor and gather more information about his disappearance.
The circumstances surrounding Gurucharan Singh’s disappearance, particularly his financial struggles despite his imminent wedding, have raised concerns among his fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry. Speculations about the possible reasons behind his disappearance are also circulating, but the police have not disclosed any specific details regarding their ongoing investigation.
