Thalapathy Vijay’s latest action-drama The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) has made a strong impact at the box office both domestically and internationally. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film is witnessing an upward trend in collections as it enters its fourth day of release. According to reports from Sacnilk, GOAT earned Rs 34.2 crore across all languages on its first Sunday, bringing its total collection to Rs 137.2 crore so far.
Catering to a wide audience, GOAT is available in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, adding to its widespread appeal. The film follows the story of an elite agent, portrayed by Vijay in a dual role, who retires to live a peaceful life but is soon called back into action to prevent a global catastrophe.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh also noted the film’s growing momentum on X (formerly Twitter), particularly on day 3. “GOAT shows a strong upward trend on Day 3 [Sat], with growth in mass-market regions as expected. The challenge now is to sustain this momentum beyond the 4-day extended weekend, starting from Monday,” he tweeted.
Despite its success, GOAT has not been released in some of the major national cinema chains in North India, including PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. Taran Adarsh pointed out that had the film been screened in these theatres, its earnings would have been significantly higher. For the Hindi version, the film earned Rs 7.80 crore in its first three days, with Rs 2.80 crore on Thursday, Rs 1.90 crore on Friday, and Rs 3.10 crore on Saturday.
GOAT features a star-studded cast, including Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Mohan, Sneha, Jayaram, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Ajmal Ameer. Trisha Krishnan also appears in a special dance sequence. Produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram under AGS Entertainment, the film was released in theatres on September 5, 2024.
With a promising start and positive reception, the focus now shifts to whether GOAT can maintain its momentum in the coming weeks. Fans are eagerly watching to see if the film can continue its box office dominance and break more records.
