Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received yet another death threat, adding to a series of threats that have targeted the actor over the past two years. On Monday morning, the Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline reportedly received a chilling message threatening to assassinate the actor by entering his home and planting a bomb in his car.
Authorities have since filed a formal complaint against unknown individuals and launched a full-scale investigation into the origin of the message. According to police sources, efforts are underway to trace the sender and verify the credibility of the threat.
Salman Khan resides with his family at the Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai. The actor has been under increased security since last year, when shooters allegedly associated with the Bishnoi gang fired at his residence. This latest message marks the fifth threat the actor has received in just two years.
History of Threats Linked to Bishnoi Gang
Salman Khan has frequently found himself on the radar of Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates. The Bishnoi gang has openly expressed hostility toward the actor due to his involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Although the court has since dismissed the case, the Bishnoi community holds blackbucks sacred, and Lawrence Bishnoi has publicly demanded that Salman apologize in Rajasthan for allegedly killing the animal, or face dire consequences.
Last year, a plot to assassinate the actor at his Panvel farmhouse was foiled by police. Investigators revealed that shooters had been monitoring the actor’s movements in preparation for the attack.
Security Measures in Place
Following the rise in threats, Mumbai Police have maintained tight security around Salman Khan’s residence and personal movement. Additional measures are now expected to be taken in light of the recent bomb threat. The actor’s security detail has reportedly been alerted, and police are closely coordinating with the family to ensure their safety.
Salman’s Recent Work
On the professional front, Salman Khan was recently seen in Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. The film, released during Eid, marked the Tamil filmmaker’s return to Bollywood but received a lukewarm response. Despite earning over ₹200 crore globally and ₹109 crore domestically, the film is showing signs of slowing down and may close below the ₹250 crore mark—falling short of expectations for a Salman Khan starrer.
As investigations continue, fans and well-wishers have flooded social media with concern and support for the actor. The police have yet to issue a public update on the progress of the case.
