Coldplay’s Ahmedabad Concert Creates Frenzy as Fans and Ticket Scalpers Storm Narendra Modi Stadium

Ahmedabad witnessed an electrifying atmosphere as Coldplay’s highly anticipated concert at the Narendra Modi Stadium became the talk of the town. Thousands of fans gathered outside the venue on Saturday, with some even trading tickets in front of the stadium gates. A viral video captured the chaotic scene, showing ticket scalpers attempting to cash in on the overwhelming demand for the British rock band’s performance.

The excitement for the event had already reached a fever pitch back in September when ticket bookings opened on BookMyShow, causing the platform to crash under immense traffic. On Saturday, Coldplay performed their largest concert to date, filling the Narendra Modi Stadium, which boasts a seating capacity of over 100,000. The band’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle shared a photo from the concert, captioned, “Our biggest ever concert. Totally mind-blowing. Thank you Ahmedabad ❤️ See you again tomorrow – and if you’re in India, please join us on Disney+ Hotstar from 7.45pm ✨.”

Coldplay, fronted by Chris Martin, will return to the stage on Sunday for another monumental performance at the same venue. The second show will be livestreamed on Disney+ Hotstar, coinciding with Republic Day celebrations.

The band arrived in Ahmedabad on Saturday, kicking off their two-night performance. Fans were treated to a delightful moment when Chris Martin was spotted riding pillion on a scooter through the city, dressed casually in a black T-shirt and olive-green shorts. His visible awe at Ahmedabad’s streets, shared in an Instagram video, captivated fans around the globe.

To ensure safety and manage the massive crowd, the Gujarat Police deployed over 3,800 officers and installed 400 CCTV cameras across the venue. Undercover officers, including female personnel, were also present to monitor the event and maintain order.

Coldplay’s historic performance in Ahmedabad marks a significant moment for fans and solidifies the city’s position as a hotspot for global musical events.
