Bollywood star Deepika Padukone and her in-laws recently hosted a special dinner for Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen at a Mumbai restaurant. The intimate gathering saw Deepika, who is expecting her first child soon, spending quality time with family and friends.
Lakshya Sen Joins Deepika Padukone for Family Dinner
The dinner, which took place at a popular Mumbai eatery, was attended by Deepika’s in-laws, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani and Anju Bhavnani, as well as her sister-in-law Ritika Bhavnani. Lakshya Sen, who was the guest of honor, joined the family for the occasion. In viral photos from the evening, Deepika can be seen wearing a long black dress paired with white shoes and a black blazer, a chic yet comfortable outfit that she had previously worn during an outing with Ranveer Singh’s father on August 20. The expectant mother warmly hugged Lakshya as they exited the restaurant, radiating joy and excitement as she approaches her due date in September.
Ranveer Singh’s Support for Lakshya Sen
Lakshya Sen, a former world junior No. 1, has been a prominent figure in Indian badminton, winning gold medals at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships and the Summer Youth Olympics in the mixed team event. Recently, he received public support from Ranveer Singh after narrowly missing out on a bronze medal in the men’s singles badminton match at the Paris Olympics.
Following his Olympic loss, Lakshya’s mentor, former badminton legend Prakash Padukone, called for introspection among Indian badminton players. Ranveer, defending Lakshya, took to Instagram Stories to praise the young athlete’s performance. “What a player! What endurance, what agility, what a range of shots, what focus, what grit, what smarts. Scintillating badminton on display! It’s difficult to encapsulate just how brilliant he’s been at the Olympics. Missed out narrowly in a game of extremely small margins. But he’s only 22 and he is just getting started,” Ranveer wrote, expressing his admiration for Lakshya’s skill and potential.
Ranveer and Deepika to Reunite Onscreen in Singham Again
In addition to their support for Lakshya, Ranveer and Deepika are set to share the screen once again in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film Singham Again. The film, part of Shetty’s popular cop universe, will feature an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and Tiger Shroff. Singham Again is highly anticipated and is expected to hit theaters during Diwali.
