Exceller Books Concluded a Remarkable Press Meet at the International Kolkata Book Fair 2025

Exceller Books successfully concluded a vibrant press meet at the Press Corner of the International Kolkata Book Fair on 8th February 2025. The event witnessed the official launch of three exceptional titles, marking a significant moment in contemporary literature.

The event unveiled the launch of ‘লুসি ও প্যারাবোলার সংঘাত’ (Lucy o Parabolaar Songhat), a gripping Bengali sci-fi novel by Anandajit Goswami and Debashis Chakraborty. It follows Lucy, a fearless young girl who must journey into the future to prevent an impending catastrophe, facing dark forces and the risk of being lost in time forever. Blending adventure with sustainability themes, the novel reflects Goswami’s expertise in environmental storytelling as an Associate Professor at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies and Chakraborty’s insights from years of research on trade and the environment at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. The book’s thrilling premise and real-world relevance sparked engaging discussions among the audience.

The event also unveiled The Winged One, the English edition of Danaola Manush by Binod Ghosal who won the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2011 for the Bengali book. This work is a collection of fifteen deeply moving stories exploring identity, empathy, and human connections. Another highlight was Damp Shadows and Faint Metaphors, a poetry collection by national award-winning filmmaker and academic Professor Ashok Viswanathan, who captivated the audience with readings and insights into his poetic vision.

A distinguished panel, including Binod Ghosal, Dr. Chandrajyoti Sen Majumdar, Debjyoti Bhattacharya, and Debashis Chakrabarti, discussed their creative journeys, translation experiences, and thematic explorations. The publishers, Dr. Sudipta Kumar Ghosh and Anjita Ganguly, also talked about other significant titles published during the book fair, reinforcing their commitment to bringing diverse and thought-provoking literature to readers worldwide.
