Radhika Gupta, the Managing Director and CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, is set to join the third season of ‘Shark Tank India’ as a judge. This announcement comes as the show continues to attract prominent business personalities, with OYO’s Ritesh Agarwal, Zomato’s Deepinder Goyal, and Inshorts’ Azar Iqbal having already been introduced as new Sharks for the upcoming season.
Ms. Gupta expressed her excitement about her role on the show through a social media post. She shared a photo with her fellow Sharks and stated, “Founded a company. Building another one. And investing in many others that are building the India of tomorrow. Love everything about entrepreneurship and want to do everything to cheer for those who are building this country. This weekend at Shark Tank India is just about that. Super excited to learn, share, and be part of the magic of new.”
In a subsequent tweet, Ms. Gupta clarified that her investments in ‘Shark Tank India’ would be made in a personal capacity.
‘Shark Tank India’ is a reality show where startups pitch their business ideas to established entrepreneurs, seeking investment to fuel their growth. The show has gained popularity in India and is based on the successful American series of the same name.
Season 3 of ‘Shark Tank India’ will be available for streaming on the Sony Liv OTT platform, with Rahul Dua as the host. Notably, Radhika Gupta is recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and has held her current position at Edelweiss Mutual Fund since February 2017. In addition to her role in the financial industry, she is an accomplished author and a sought-after speaker, having delivered TEDx and Josh Talks presentations.
The first season of ‘Shark Tank India’ premiered in December 2021, followed by its second season in January 2023. The show has played a pivotal role in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation by providing startups with access to capital and guidance from successful business leaders.
