Renowned 'Dhoom' Director Sanjay Gadhvi Passes Away at 56; Family Suspects Heart Attack

Sanjay Gadhvi, the acclaimed director famously known for the ‘Dhoom’ franchise, tragically passed away at the age of 56. Gadhvi, whose birthday was just days away, left an indelible mark with his directorial brilliance in ‘Dhoom’ (2004) and ‘Dhoom 2’ (2006), both blockbuster hits under Yash Raj Films.

According to Gadhvi’s daughter, Sanjina, the director’s sudden demise occurred at his residence in the morning. Despite being seemingly healthy, his family suspects it to be a heart attack. Sanjina shared with PTI, “He passed away at 9.30 am this morning at his residence. We are not sure what it is, but it is most likely a heart attack. He wasn’t unwell, he was perfectly healthy.”

Gadhvi commenced his directorial journey with ‘Tere Liye’ in 2000, and furthered his success with ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’ in 2002, marking his collaboration with Yash Raj Films.

Survived by his wife, another daughter, and a legacy of cinematic brilliance, Sanjay Gadhvi’s unexpected departure has left the film industry and his admirers mourning his loss.
