Diljit Dosanjh Addresses Ticket Scalping at India Concerts: "Not My Fault"

Singer and performer Diljit Dosanjh, currently touring India as part of his Dil-Luminati Tour, took a firm stand against ticket scalping during his concert in Indore on Sunday. Addressing allegations of black marketing of tickets for his shows, the artist made it clear that such practices are beyond his control and rooted in the actions of opportunists.

Diljit’s Response to Ticket Scalping Allegations

Responding to ongoing criticism, Diljit said, “For a long time, people in our country have been going against me, saying the tickets are being sold in black. It’s not my fault. If someone buys a ticket for ₹10 and sells it for ₹100, how can the artist be blamed?”

He further referenced a poem by Rahat Indori to underscore his message, suggesting that people unfairly blame the artist for systemic issues. With a composed demeanor, Diljit declared, “I don’t have any fear of being defamed. I don’t have any tension. The black marketing of tickets is not new—it’s been happening since the early days of cinema in India.”

Indore Performance and Local Connections

Apart from his powerful performance, Diljit embraced Indore’s local culture by sharing a video of himself enjoying the city’s signature poha in the early hours. He also took the time to interact with fans who gathered to see him, meeting cyclists and expressing gratitude for their support.

Special Appearance by Deepika Padukone

Earlier in the tour, Diljit created buzz when Deepika Padukone joined him on stage during his Bengaluru concert on December 6. The Bollywood star danced to Diljit’s popular tracks, including Hass Hass and the synth-pop hit Lover, delighting fans. Clips of the duo grooving together quickly went viral, adding to the excitement surrounding the tour.

The Dil-Luminati Tour

Diljit’s ongoing India tour has been met with tremendous enthusiasm, but controversies like ticket scalping have also surfaced. Despite this, the artist continues to connect with his fans both on and off stage, making each performance a memorable experience.
