"Deepika Padukone Joins Celebrity Praise for '12th Fail,' Agrees with Alia Bhatt's Glowing Review"

Deepika Padukone has added her voice to the chorus of celebrities commending the recently released film, ’12th Fail,’ directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and featuring Vikrant Massey in the lead role. In a recent Instagram Stories post, Padukone reposted Alia Bhatt’s review of the film, expressing her agreement and extending congratulations to the entire cast and crew.

Alia Bhatt, who watched ’12th Fail’ and shared her thoughts on Instagram, described it as “one of the most beautiful films I have seen in a while.” She applauded the performances, particularly praising Vikrant Massey for his spectacular portrayal. Bhatt also acknowledged Medha Shankr as the heart and soul of Manoj’s journey, and she commended Anant V Joshi’s outstanding contribution. The actress concluded her review by lauding Vidhu Vinod Chopra, stating that the film was moving, inspiring, and complete.

Deepika Padukone echoed Alia Bhatt’s sentiments, writing on her Instagram Stories, “I couldn’t agree more! Congratulations to the entire cast and crew… Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Vikrant Massey, Medha Shankr.”

’12th Fail,’ which premiered on OTT platforms after an initial theatrical release in October 2023, is based on the real-life story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, with Vikrant Massey portraying the lead character. The film has garnered praise from various celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut, Katrina Kaif, and Rohit Shetty.

Kangana Ranaut, in an Instagram Stories post earlier this month, termed the film “terrific” and shared her emotional experience during a flight, stating, “I was weeping throughout the film, ufff never cried so much in a flight, my co-passengers were stealing concerned glances at me, I am embarrassed.”

Katrina Kaif also applauded the film’s success and expressed the importance of an interesting story finding its audience. The film has been sent to the Oscars 2024 as an independent nomination.

’12th Fail’ explores the journey of Manoj Kumar Sharma, a young boy from Chambal who defies the odds to become an IPS officer. Vikrant Massey’s performance and the film’s storytelling have received acclaim, making it a standout production in the diverse landscape of Bollywood cinema. The movie is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
