After a strong start at the box office, “Yodha,” starring Sidharth Malhotra, witnessed a noticeable drop in collections on its first Monday, bringing in ₹2.15 crore, as reported by Sacnilk. The film, directed by Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, has accumulated a total of ₹19 crore so far. Alongside Sidharth Malhotra, “Yodha” features Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in pivotal roles, narrating the story of special task force officer Arun Katyal’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding the nation from terrorist threats. The movie is jointly produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the opening weekend box office report of “Yodha,” describing its performance as “strictly okay,” with the aid of a “Buy 1 Get 1 free ticket offer.” He noted that while the weekend numbers were decent, the film’s performance in mass pockets limited its growth, emphasizing the significance of its Monday business.
Taran Adarsh’s breakdown of the film’s weekend collections is as follows: Friday – ₹4.25 crore, Saturday – ₹6.01 crore, Sunday – ₹7.25 crore, totaling ₹17.51 crore in India.
However, the critical reception of “Yodha” has been mixed. In a review for NDTV, Saibal Chatterjee rated the film 1.5 out of 5 stars, criticizing its erratic screenplay and chaotic narrative. Chatterjee described the film as an “insufferably scrappy thriller” that struggles to engage viewers, highlighting the confusion and lack of coherence in its storytelling.
As “Yodha” continues its theatrical run, the industry’s focus remains on its performance in the coming days, with expectations and scrutiny heightened after its initial box office numbers and critical assessments.
