Former English footballer David Beckham opened up about his reaction to wife Victoria Beckham’s statement in their Netflix docuseries during an interview at the Meta office in Mumbai. Discussing his latest Netflix documentary ‘Beckham,’ the football icon addressed the attention-grabbing moment where he playfully teased Victoria over her comment about being ‘very working class.’
In conversation at the Meta event, David Beckham shared insights about the documentary, stating, “I did a documentary with Victoria, where she talked about being working class (laughs), but the thing about that scene was that we were filming and Victoria never watched the stuff that I did and I didn’t watch what she did. So, I took my headphones on and I knew the stuff that she was going to say, but then I felt that ‘this is my moment’ and it was quite a funny moment.”
The controversial scene in ‘Beckham’ involved Victoria Beckham discussing their backgrounds, mentioning, “Both of our parents work very hard, we’re very working class.” David, in a light-hearted manner, interjected the conversation, urging Victoria to reveal details about the car her father drove her to school. The exchange playfully unfolded, highlighting their differing perspectives on their upbringing.
David and Victoria Beckham, known as ‘Posh and Becks,’ have been a prominent couple since the late 1990s. Their relationship began in 1997 and led to marriage in 1999, resulting in four children – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
