Coldplay Ahmedabad Concert Sparks Hotel Price Surge; Guest’s ₹1,800 Booking Cancelled

The announcement of Coldplay’s fourth Indian concert in Ahmedabad has not only electrified fans but also sent hotel prices in the city skyrocketing. With the band scheduled to perform at the Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25, 2025, hotel demand has soared, leaving many fans frustrated over cancellations and inflated prices.

Guest Faces Cancellation Amid Price Surge

A fan and digital content creator, Samarth, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his disappointment after his ₹1,800-per-night hotel booking near the venue was cancelled just hours after confirmation. In his post, Samarth wrote, “Booked a stay near Narendra Modi Stadium 2 minutes after Coldplay Ahmedabad show was announced. Just got an email saying booking is cancelled. I booked 1 night stay at 1800/-. Now watch this cost touch 18000/- within a few hours.” He also shared a screenshot of the cancellation email, sparking sympathy and outrage among fellow fans.

HT.com has reached out to the hotel for a statement, and an update is awaited.

Coldplay’s Indian Tour: A Frenzy Among Fans

Coldplay, known for their spectacular live performances, enjoys a massive following in India. As part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025, the band will perform three consecutive shows at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 20, before heading to Ahmedabad for their biggest-ever show in India.

Tickets for the Mumbai concerts sold out within hours when released last month, with similar anticipation building for the Ahmedabad event. Tickets for the January 25 show are set to go on sale on November 16 at 12 PM IST, via BookMyShow Live in partnership with Live Nation, the global tour promoter.

Hotel Prices Skyrocket

One user, @UjvalChopra, posted, “Thought I’ll book a hotel room and keep just in case I manage to get the tickets for Coldplay in Ahmedabad. The prices just skyrocketed.”

The Narendra Modi Stadium, known for hosting major global events, will be Coldplay’s venue for their final Indian performance in 2025, adding to the buzz.

Conclusion

While fans eagerly await the ticket sale, the surge in accommodation prices has added an unexpected layer of complexity to the concert experience. Many hope for transparency and fair practices in managing hotel bookings during such high-demand events.
